Everything on CaliCoin Farming

What Is APY in Yield Farming?

Yield farming is the practice of staking or lending crypto assets in order to generate high returns or rewards in the form of additional cryptocurrency. This innovative, yet volatile investment practice in decentralized finance (DeFi) has skyrocketed in popularity thanks to further innovations like liquidity mining, where investors lock their liquidity pool tokens in a smart contract to earn additional rewards.
These additional rewards can be a percentage of transaction fees, NFTs or a governance token. These returns are expressed as an Annual Percentage Yield or Returns (APY or APR) which is equivalent to Annual Interest Rate in traditional finance. As more investors add funds to the related liquidity pool, the value of the rewards decrease accordingly.

What are Liquidity Pools and How do they Work?

Liquidity pool is a supply of tokens that are locked into a smart contract which facilitate efficient asset trading while allowing investors to earn a return on their pooled assets. A healthy supply of liquidity from a variety of providers are essential to the long-term growth and stability of a crypto asset, so protocols reward liquidity pool providers with high APYs.

How to add Liquidity to CaliCoin Liquidity Pool

The following example demonstrates what happens when a user contributes to a liquidity pool on PancakeSwap, After adding your CALI/BNB assets, you will receive PancakeSwap LP tokens, which represent a share of the provided assets in the PancakeSwap smart contract.

When supplying liquidity to PancakeSwap, the assets need to be provided in 50/50 proportions. That is, when adding $500 in liquidity to the CALI/BNB pool, $250 in CALI and $250 in BNB must be added, for the liquidity to be approved.

Visit the PancakeSwap liquidity page and add equivalent amount of $CALI/BNB pairs

4. Swap Tokens on PancakeSwap via WalletConnect. You can start swapping tokens on PancakeSwap like you would normally do on a DApp browser. There is just an additional step, wherein you will have to switch between Trust Wallet and your mobile browser in order to approve transactions.

Here is how it looks when you are doing a token swap.

In this case, we tried to send first a Token Approval transaction. The Trust Wallet app has to be opened to confirm the transaction.

5. Approve the Transaction. Tap on Send to continue. Then to proceed with the actual swap of the tokens, we have to go back to the mobile browser and tap on Confirm Swap.

The Trust Wallet app has to be opened again to confirm the transaction.

6. To submit the transaction, tap on Send. You will see a notification on the mobile browser that the swap was completed successfully.

7. Check the Wallet. Disconnect the WalletConnect session by tapping on Cancel. Open your wallet to see the token you have received after the completed swap.

Now your tokens should safely be in your wallet, but if it doesn’t appear, then add it manually following this single step

How To Buy CALI on PancakeSwap

Buying a coin or token on a decentralized exchange is nothing like that of a centralized exchange where everything is set in place for you to trade. There are a few crucial tasks to complete before a swap or trade can take place on a DEX (decentralized exchange).

Buying a coin on any DEX requires the native token of the smartchain that powers the platform in order to cover for things like gas fees. As Ethereum is required to pay for fees on Uniswap or other Ethereum based DEXes, so is Binance BNB (BEP20) coin needed to pay for fees on PancakeSwap. In this guide, we’ll show you step by step how to buy CaliCoin on a decentralized exchange like PancakeSwap.

Please feel free to skip any step that you’re familiar with.
